Schone Raue Welt (blue Marble)
With "Schöne raue Welt" ("Beautiful Rough World"), POPPERKLOPPER release their 12th studio album. Across twelve songs, the band once again blends punk rock and rock'n'roll into their own unmistakable sound. Written during a lineup change, the album also marks the return of former bassist Poeppel, back after a ten-year break. Recorded and mixed by longtime bassist Udo, the record captures a band moving forward while staying true to its roots. Musically, POPPERKLOPPER expand their classic punk sound with Hammond organ, sitar and synthesizer, adding fresh ideas without losing their edge. The lyrics tackle today's world: the rise of the far right, stalking, environmental destruction, selfishness and social media. Guest singer Jutta Pardeike (Lusthansa) joins the band on "Hey Typ", a powerful song about sexual harassment. Personal stories and memories also play an important role, including a tribute to Trier's legendary Exhaus youth and culture center. After more than 35 years as a band, "Schöne raue Welt" is their most diverse album yet angry, honest and full of energy, but with hope still shining through.
