Françoise Hardy was born on January 17, 1944, in Paris. Alongside her studies, she attended the music conservatory and began writing her first songs. After an audition at a Parisian record label, she landed her first record contract. Her songs about boys and girls her age searching for love resonated with the times. Following her appearance on the popular youth program "Salut les copains," she gained widespread recognition. Her first album sold over two million copies. Her career continued into the 2010s. Françoise Hardy died on June 11, 2024, in Paris at the age of 80.
