"Delfine der Weide" is released on Rookie Records and comes around the corner with versatile soundscapes and expressive lyrics. The songwriting has become deeper and more abstract, which gives the flow of the music and the lyrics exactly the scope they need. The production is immediate and direct and in ten new songs, frontman Sebastian Kiefer takes the listener on a journey through the long and winding corridors of his head. Kiefer wrote the album on the vast expanses of the disused Tempelhof airfield. Recording, mixing and mastering were done in Kiefer's own recording studio "Rookie Mastering" in Berlin and bear Kiefer's unmistakable signature. Pop and fragility are unagitatedly paired with aggressiveness and punk. Themes such as confinement, drug psychoses, cancer, the loss of friends and one's own hearing are dealt with without drifting into the too gloomy. There is always a refreshing breeze of playfulness and self-ironic distance. One understands what the band means by the self-proclaimed musical genre "Pop Colère". Here everything is checked out and still dirty and at the same time you get complex compositions that melodiously catch the ear. Sebastian's deep and smoky voice gives the whole thing a rough and unusual sound, gives the poppy parts the desired snottiness and the punky parts the necessary aggressiveness: intense, humorous, melancholic and punky at the same time. The front cover by photographer Alfred Stieglitz captures all this fragility, loneliness and hope of the album in one photo. When you open the record, you are greeted by a pink sleeve and a turquoise vinyl record. Contrary to the debut, which came in a turquoise sleeve and pink vinyl.
