MILICENT is a new DarkWave band from Stuttgart, Germany.Founded by Valerio Kuhl (programming/ lyrics, vocals, synths & guitars) and Simone Mayer (vocals & synths).Valerio also played synths for the post-punk band XTR HUMAN a few years ago. Both musicians have been active in the black scene for years and Valerio regularly DJs as DJ Val as a resident at Stuttgart Schwarz and other events. A short time later they were joined by guitarist Janey Schumacher, who also plays in the punk band INEFFECTIVE PANKILLERS.The music is a mixture of DarkWave, PostPunk and SynthPop. There are also 80s elements as well as shoegazy guitars and varied electronic beats, sequencers and basses. Valerio and Simone sometimes sing individually, sometimes as a duet.The 8 songs for the debut album "MYRSKY" were created in 2022 and finally mixed and mastered in early 2023. The complex artwork was designed by the band themselves."MYRSKY" is about isolation, trust, fears, sadness, dreams, nature, hope, love, depression, friendship,regression and darkness.Each song focuses on one of these themes, altogether they form a dark concept album and tell the story of the 17-year-old girl Milicent, who attempts suicide and falls into a coma
