Presente Les Deserteurs

With this album, HK has reworked several French classics to the rhythms and melodies of traditional Maghreb music. Les Dserteurs enlist dozens of songs, uncovering secret connections between chaâbi and suburban waltzes, between Toulouse and the Maghreb, between the poetry of the masters of the 1950s and the rhythm of the derbouka. These songs bring the two shores of the Mediterranean Sea a little closer together for the duration of a concert.
