With their metaphorical and cheerful songs, they have quickly gained a large fan base and breathed new life into the city of Istanbul and the country with their bold, original and genre-bending music.Büyük Ev Ablukada is one of Istanbul's most popular and successful alternative bands, capturing the dynamic cultural pulse of Istanbul. With each album, they have managed to surprise their listeners with a different musical style and an innovative approach. The journey that began with their first album ull Faça' continued with IRTINAYT' and culminated with efansif Dizayn', which they have been working on for years. Their cross-genre sound reflects the ever-changing energy of the city, creating an innovative and bold representation of modern Istanbul. Originally released exclusively in Turkey in August 2024, efansif Dizayn' marked the band's highly anticipated return with their first studio album in seven years. This album is more than just music - it is a window into the contemporary soundscape of Istanbul and a reflection of a city in constant evolution. It certainly has the potential, both culturally and artistically, to have a strong appeal to a European audience. And certainly the large EU-based Turkish community, which has a deep connection to Istanbul's vibrant music scene, will now (once again) take notice of this album.In spring 2025, the band will embark on a European tour that will take them to several important cities. In support of this tour, the band and the label now want to present a special European edition with a new, alternative cover artwork and make vinyl available again. The record was mastered by Shawn Joseph at the Grammy award-winning Optimum Mastering studios in Bristol, where names such as Massive Attack and Portishead have also worked. The EU Edition was produced by Optimal. Hailing from Istanbul, the CAZ PLAK label conceptually blends jazz with other genres to find new, hybrid sounds for the 2020s, preferably in their most idealistic and artistic form. Although the Büyük Ev Ablukada album deviates somewhat musically from Caz Plak's usual jazz-oriented catalogue, it fits seamlessly into the label's vision in spirit, attitude and musically.
