With a no-frills approach, The Brakes' steady, driving brand of rock'n'roll is tinged with country twang - and whilst their songs span both brooding balladry to heady pub rock, the Brakes maintain one foot firmly on the gas. With thoughtful storytelling, pounding rhythms, and soaring, overdriven guitars, the six piece's uncompromising sound has developed a reputation as the perfect soundtrack for Friday knock-off. The Brakes are fronted by Sam Jeffrey (Ironbark Brothers), Lead guitarists Rhys Campbell (Future Suck) and Brad McDermott (Speed Week), Emma Petley (Blonde Revolver), Kyle Campbell (Future Suck) on Bass and Gus Campbell on drums.
