Aggrolites, The
Super Atomic
In the years since the release of 2019's Reggae Now!, LA's finest purveyors of Dirty Reggae have been on the road non-stop, circling the globe and spreading the Aggro Sound to a world that sorely needs it. "Since Reggae Now!, our band has stayed committed to live entertainment," says lead singer Jesse Wagner. "Refining our musical chemistry and continuing to carry the torch for Dirty Reggae." With their famously tight playing thus sharpened to a razor's edge from touring, the band entered the studio for the long-awaited follow up to their beloved comeback record bigger and more intentional than ever, and armed with lyrics balancing grit and uplift, weight and light. The band pushed each other creatively. Recording felt less like experimentation and more like execution. Every part had to earn its place. The songs were written to hit hard live - that energy guided everything. "We trust the groove," remarks Jesse. "That's always been our compass." Sonically, Super Atomic leans into high-energy grooves while still leaving space for melody and hooks. The band approached this record with more clarity and confidence than ever before.
