Don't Look Down

One who wishes to move forward, for example from Switzerland into the international billboard charts, must be as forward focused and determined as the band Vivian. On "Don't Look Down" their new album, Vivian once again describes the true life experiences they have themselves endured. This suits them as well on CD, as it does in band philosophy. Vivian was founded in 1998 and in the same year achieved "newcomer of the year" status in Lucerne. Three years later they landed the ever elusive record contract (BMG) and released their debut album "V". In 2003 their second release "Alive" (Warner) became the true debut of the band, offering their fans a freer, fresher, smarter more awake sound, the sound of Vivian themselves. With "Alive" Vivian exploded onto the scene with main stage performances at Open Air St Gallen, Montreux Jazz Festival, support shows with The Cranberries, Lenny Kravitz, Avril Lavigne, Status Quo and a three week US-Tour. The album "Don't Look Down" is a representative work of experience, self awareness and confidence, bringing the quartet directly to their definitive point. Vivian combines rock and melody with verve and charm on a wonderfully accessible level. "Don't Look Down" entered the Top 30 of the Swiss Charts, "None Of These Days" has become a true radio hit in Switzerland. By the way: in the event one might find "Don't Look Down" reminiscent of Green Days "American Idiot", rest assured "Don't Look Down" sounded this way already one year earlier.
