Very Big Experimental Toubifri Orchestra, The
Le Lac
In the beginning, there is a lake. And that's fine for everyone. But then swimming is banned. And it's a law that seems to come out of nowhere. So then there's the possible and the impossible. There's struggle and surrender. There's also neither one nor the other. There are many ways to be alive. The Very Big Experimental Toubifri Orchestra imagines a poetic and offbeat musical tale. A burlesque fable with political undertones, where the boundaries between musical theater and opera blur. Driven by a cast of colorful characters, *Le Lac* unfolds a rich and socially conscious world where the absurd rubs shoulders with the mysterious, where the chorus responds to the orchestra, and where each piece advances a surprising narrative. A collective, festive, and unique epic that celebrates both the spirit of resistance and the ambiguity of the human race.
