FOR FANS OF: Dillinger Four, Teenage Bottlerocket, Leatherface, O With Their Heads, No Idea Records. Have you heard that Americans are trying to (get a load of this) bring prayer into school and a buncha other wacky religious hooey? Well, we have answered the call to arms and assembled a couple godless punk bands: Tightwire and Canadian Rie. The "Nietzsche EP" pairs up heretics from Chicago and Minneapolis for six songs on this split release. It's like a mini-LP... but FROM HELL. And of course we got some real slick packaging with a gatefold 7", just as god intended. Side A is Tightwire and their reliable Ramones-y doom pop, while Side B oers Canadian Rie's heavy punk rock from the DIY scene, reminding us of Leatherface, et al. These are two very dierent bands, but they both share themes of nihilism, tragedy, fatalism, and all that other dark shit. By invoking Nietzsche's (presumably public domain?) brand into this project, we have forged an unholy trinity to vanquish all preachy nerds and posers.
