Faber: A Jazz Tribute To The Music Of Fabrizio De Andre
Fabrizio De Andr, affectionately called Faber, was a poet of compassion and rebellion whose songs blend tenderness, irony and critique. This tribute reimagines his music through the lens of jazz. Pianist Pasquale Stafano, bassist Daniele Cappucci and drummer Fabio Accardi are joined by Badrya Razems expressive voice and Vince Abbracciantes lyrical accordion. Together they revisit iconic songs - Bocca di Rosa, La canzone di Marinella, Crêuza de m, Il Pescatore - allowing melodies to remain recognizable while harmonies shift and rhythms breathe anew. Arrangements explore Mediterranean colours, modal inflections, subtle choro echoes and odd meters, turning each piece into a dialogue rather than homage. The trio favours narrative over nostalgia: the piano tells, the bass sustains memory, the drums give space. Abbracciante expands textures with luminous phrasing, while Razems singing unites fragility and power. A heartfelt reinvention that keeps De Andrs ethic of attention alive, making his voice resonate in the present.
