SHIREEN represent enigmatic witch rock from the Netherlands, combining powerful rock elements with electronic and folk influences - carried by Annicke's charismatic voice. Inspired by artists such as Bjork, Kate Bush, and Tool, they create their own sound, which they describe as witch rock: intense, multi-layered, and full of atmosphere. Bandleader and singer Annicke Shireen is member at HEILUNG. After their debut "Matriarch," which combined folk and pop, the band's "Elytra" album reveals itself to be more experimental and harder. Their current live release, "Elytra Live At Luxor," captures the raw energy of their concerts - SHIREEN live is not a mere reproduction, but an intense musical re-creation.
