Seheno
Dance In Resilience
A magnetic fusion of Malagasy alt-pop with Indian grooves and electronica. In her new EP, "Dance in Resilience," Seheno explores the paradox between the importance of connections and letting go, finding one's center to connect with others, and dancing with hope in the face of the world's chaos. Produced with her longtime collaborator, the virtuoso percussionist Prabhu Edouard, this third release explores vast soundscapes tinged with electronica, where Seheno's poetry_in Malagasy or English_her voice, and the hypnotic sound of the tablas intertwine. A contemplative journey spanning six tracks that tells the story of the future of that fragile beauty known as Madagascar (featuring guest artist Justin Vali), the resilience and melancholy of exile, and humanity's place in a troubled world. As introspective as it is socially conscious, Seheno's music also draws inspiration from the ancestral mysticism of the "Red Island," celebrated through haunting grooves that invite listeners into a trance-like state.
