Sapient is an already established artist, as both a producer and a member of Northwest heavyweight crew Sandpeople and his group The Prime with Luckyiam (Living Legends). Having also forged his way with an independent solo career that supports both his wife and newborn daughter, Sapient epitomizes the DIY movement. The latest album by Sapient, a 15-track effort titled Barrels for Feathers, showcases his diversity and sets him worlds apart from his would-be peers. His use of instrumentation, all written & played by Sapient, provides a complex sound that steals the best parts of indie rock & blends them seamlessly into hip-hop.
