AND....... RATS AND DAGGERS DEVOTEES -> YOU CAN ORDER THE FLEXI DISC as BUNDLE w/ the upcoming EP 'Half Hanged' This limited two-track single Mary contains the intro track Half Hanged (named after the EP name) and the track Mary. Half Hanged describes the story of Mary Webster as told in Margaret Atwood's poem, written by vocalist Imara Speek, narrated by the dark vocals of Chilean bassist Camilo Ulloa. Mary, a single, independent woman who is suspected of being a witch by the villagers whose illnesses and deliveries she has helped with. After being found innocent by a jury in the city, she still got hanged by her angry neighbors. However, Mary survives after hanging for 8 hours, kills the mayor of the village and lives another 30 years before dying of old age. A story that, in addition to being true, also symbolizes the injustice done to women in the past. Because, what are witches, except strong, clever women? That is why the sludge punk song Mary with vocals by Imara Speek shouts "This is what you made, I became the thing you hate: I am the witch!"
