Neysmith, Monty -& The Upsessions-
The Vampire Bites Back
Earlier this year, the Dutch band The Upsessions, together with Symarip legend Monty Neysmith, released the album 'Sheriff Double Gun' on Aggrobeat Records. For The Upsessions, this was their first new album in ten years! The Upsessions promoted the album with several European tours totalling seven weeks. During the recording sessions for 'Sherrif Double Gun' two extra tracks were recorded for a Halloween themed 7" single. The A-side is a King Horror-style boss reggae track with lead vocals by Monty Neysmith that certainly wouldn't have been out of place on Jackpot or New Beat Records in 1969. 'Dead Coyote' at the B-side is a Version to the album track 'Fat Coyote' on which Monty Neysmith plays the organ - just as he did during his time with legendary Trojan reggae act Symarip. The artwork was drawn by the talented Malwina Siedlecka (Old School Design) and was inspired by the 'Do It Dog Style' LP from 1978 by Slaughter And The Dogs.
