Limitations

Understanding one's limitations and working to transcend them is a path to progress. Vancouver's NEEDS are back with their sophomore album of File Under: Music, Limitations, taking all of the concerns that come with a second offering and turning them into a hardcore blast of self-reflection. It's an album that is equal parts personal, political and poetic without sacrificing the unrelenting, distorted, angry guitar rock that put them on the map. Recorded at Rain City Studios with Jesse Gander (Baptists, Japandroids, ANCIIENTS), Limitations takes their diverse set of influences (ranging from Metz to Protomartyr, Pissed Jeans to Nation of Ulysses) and filters them through their furious sound machine, resulting in a punishing yet coherent whole that manages to find the balance between the thoughtful lyrics of vocalist Sean Orr and the insane antics that make up their live show.
