Mullin, Sacha
Social Touch (white/blue)
140g Iridescent White-Blue vinyl first pressing limited to 250 copies. For more than two decades, Sacha Mullin has built one of Chicago's most distinctive bodies of work. Social Touch brings his expansive voice, emotionally charged songwriting and unconventional instincts into a more immediate pop setting, drawing upon pop, jazz, rock and experimental music. The eight-song LP follows 2023's Casino Wilderness Period. William Parker Wood produced, recorded and mixed the album at Superior Street in Chicago; Mullin and Wood arranged it, and Carl Saff mastered it. The single "Hypocenter" features returning collaborator Emily Bindiger. Mullin has received attention from NPR, EARMILK, The Big Takeover, PROG and WBEZ's Vocalo. Chicago Reader readers named him Best Pop Artist and Best Music Teacher in 2024. For listeners drawn to the vocal ambition and emotional immediacy of Kate Bush, Jeff Buckley and George Michael.
