Mrs. Frighthouse
Solitude Over Control
"Like being suckerpunched by a tidal wave, Scottish industrial/noise Wife & Wife Duo Mrs Frighthouse bring utter devastation. Raging against abusers and sounding like the end of the world cranked up to 10" - Metal Hammer (28/06/2024) Mrs Frighthouse are a wife and wife duo from Glasgow that directly confront abuse, misogyny, homophobia and transphobia through performances that feel equal in equal parts disturbing and cathartic. Following an overarching narrative speaking out against perpetrators of misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, sexual violence and domestic abuse, Solitude Over Control is a feminist statement of freedom and self-preservation in the face of a seemingly unending hell. From the opening notes of Intro to the pounding sludge of DIY EXORCISM all the way to the soaring crescendo of the album's closing title track, Solitude Over Control is a triumphant achievement that pushes the landscape of heavy music forwards while remaining wholly unique. All songs performed by Mrs Frighthouse. All songs written by Mrs Frighthouse, with the exception of Intro which features an excerpt from O Mio Babbino Caro composed by Giacomo Puccini. Mixed by Luna Frighthouse. Mastered by James Plotkin.
