Whether he is at his sunny home base Bonaire, touring in Germany, or participating in sessions in the US, JB Meijers is one of the leading men in the upper echelons of pop music. Blessed as he is with talent for production and songwriting, with JB you also bring a multi-instrumentalist into your home. Yet, above all, he is a guitarist, and when he has time to himself, he prefers playing rock music. Last year, a quieter period presented itself, which he seized upon to record material for a new solo album. In a short burst of effort, he finished the record and the first singles from the album, which was given the title 'Rock und Roll', were released. As the title reveals, the album features Stoner, Prog Rock, and Classic Rock songs. The production vibrates with energy, and JB Meijers establishes himself as one of the best guitarists in the Netherlands. His vocals also lend themselves well to his new work, and in this way he has succeeded in creating a solid and consistent album. Around the release of Rock und Roll on March 6, a tour of Dutch stages will begin, during which JB Meijers will be joined live by Joost Kroon on drums and Jasja Offermans.
