This album features the world premiere recording of I fatti di Mosè, a forgotten Baroque masterpiece by Bernardo Pasquini. Composed in 1687 to a libretto by Giovanni Battista Giardini, the oratorio belongs to a grand cycle dedicated to the figure of Moses. Rediscovered and transcribed by Thomas Chigioni, the score stands out for its dramatic intensity and the prominent role of the basso continuo, allowing for expressive freedom and sonic richness. The Locatelli Ensemble offers a vivid and stylistically informed performance of a work full of contrasts, expressive nuance, and harmonic refinement. Recorded at the Donizetti Theatre in Bergamo, this CD brings back to life a precious gem of 17th-century sacred music.
