It should be noted that this is NOT the EMI edition of Der Fliegende Hollander that Klemperer conducted in the early 1960s. Instead, it is the 1968 BBC live recording, which, in addition to a sound which sometimes is even superior than EMI recording, unlike the studio recording, offers the fi rst, Dresden, version of the opera.
