Klaverenga, Chaconne
Debut
When American classical guitar virtuoso Chaconne Klaverenga released her self-titled Debut in 2008, it signaled the arrival of one of the most remarkable prodigies of the modern classical guitar concert era. Recorded when she was just a teenager, the album captures a rare musical force at the moment her talent ignited internationally. Named after Bach's string masterpiece, Klaverenga studied with guitar master Denis Azabagic in Chicago from ages 13 to 18, later refining her craft at the Cleveland Institute of Music under Grammy winner Jason Vieaux. Mentored in masterclasses by icons like Eliot Fisk and Lorenzo Micheli, she amassed 14 championship titles at prestigious international competitions before pivoting to a concert career and eventually motherhood. Debut is a tour de force of technical brilliance and expressive depth for such a young artist. The repertoire traverses essential classical masterpieces: Giuliani's Grande Ouverture, Villa-Lobos's evocative Prelude No. 1 and Bach's Allegro (BWV 998).
