Kjellvander, Christian
Portugal
Portugal is a carefully curated collection of B-sides and rare recordings from 1998 to 2004, most of which are available on vinyl for the first time. This release offers a deep insight into the artist's early creative phases and brings long-hidden treasures to light. At the center of the album is the most-played radio song, "Portugal," previously only available on the 2CD compilation "Introducing the Past..." and now finally released on vinyl. Other highlights include the cover versions of "Over and Over" (Neil Young) and "Waiting Around to Die" (Townes Van Zandt), originally included on the bonus 7" from his debut album, "Songs from a Two-Room Chapel." Also included is "Lady of the Land," a song from the debut album sessionpreviously only available as a bonus track on a limited CD edition that is still unavailable digitally. This compilation documents the artistic development of a songwriter who has always operated outside the mainstream.
