Joonas Tuuri Quartet is a jazz ensemble founded in 2017. The groups music is rhythmically rich and expressive, drawing inspiration from Brazilian jazz, with all compositions written by Tuuri himself. At the heart of the music are beautiful and memorable melodies, engaging rhythms, strong moods, and a finely honed sense of ensemble playing and improvisation. Building on this foundation, the quartet has developed a distinctive artistic voice, where sensitive communication between the musicians gives the band its personal sound.
