Yuletide And I'll Tide With Yann

An album title that announces the colour. A red and green colour, just like the psychedelic cover of this unusual album. Because Yuletide, if you didn't know, is about the end of year celebrations. And the album immerses us without concessions into an end-of-December evening, without ever disappointing us. And who better than the Australian Maxwell Farrington to guide us through the traditions of Christmas, generally defended with ardour by the Anglo-Saxon culture. Traditions are the subject of this album, which opens like a Christmas boot and contains Santa, snowmen, presents, holly, Auld Lang Syne, but also (and above all): roast potatoes, ham legs, gravy, biscuits and a few crumbs. Not surprising for an artist who also happens to be a chef! If there's no mention of alcohol, we can imagine that it will be present as the songs sway between melancholy by the fire and rallying hymns to sing together around the table. Intoxicating and moving tracks, and some 80's and country UFOs, always linked by this crooner's voice, worthy of a well-drunk end of evening (and end of album). A recipe for a home-made album, concocted by Yann Ollivier, which we won't reveal because it's just a matter of savouring it. But it will be possible to play it over and over again at Christmas time in 2022. And the following years.
