BYRTA is a new pop duo from The Faroe Islands with members Guorio Hansdottir and Janus Rasmussen. Guorio is best known as a singer-songwriter and has released three solo albums, while Janus is best known as member of the successful Icelandic electro band Bloodgroup. They met while they were both living in Reykjavk, Iceland and they started experimenting with some new songs. The result was the band BYRTA and their debut album which took the Faroe Islands by storm with hit singles like "Loyndarmal" and "Eydnan".".
