Borndius Brondetta, Lorenzo
Bach | Suites Traversires
"The challenge I posed to myself several years ago, and of which this recording is the result: acting with the utmost care and philological respect, adapting Bach's six Cello Suites to the flute/ being able to create a bridge capable of connecting such distant writings/ being able to ensure that Bach's splendid writing could retain a trace of the grace that pervades the original work, once re-proposed on the flute. The result of this transcription work of mine had to initially stop at the writing on the written page. An exercise in style for purely personal use. However, advancing little by little in this work, trying and re-trying the transcribed pieces on my instrument, seeking solutions that, beyond purely theoretical and technical choices, "played" as best as possible from a musical point of view, I found myself wonderfully trapped, infatuated by the beauty of every phrase I encountered and reproduced on the flute. I was "taking it over", making it my own." With these words Lorenzo Brondius Brondetta introduces his work on the Cello Suites by Bach on the Traversire, new horizons must never remain unexplored, and this work opens a lot of new horizonts.
