Aleksis Liukko Trio

Wicket Valley

The Aleksis Liukko Trio is an ensemble led by pianist Aleksis Liukko. Among Finlands leading contemporary musicians are bassist Mikael Saastamoinen and drummer Okko Saastamoinen, who bring a strong sense of ensemble playing and natural musical communication to the trio. The African-American musical tradition is evident, and their skilful approach to improvisation also creates energetic, Nordic and vividly colourful atmospheres.
