Bebop-pianist Joe Albany (1924 - 1988) had een getroebleerd en chaotisch leven. Deze opnames stammen uit 1973, toen hij net een come-back gemaakt had. Albany speelt solo in de bekende Montmartre-club in Kopenhagen. De Observer schreef over het eerste deel van dit optreden (verschenen als SCCD 31794) (...) the ideas come tumbling out so copiously that they sometimes fall over one another - but they're all his own ideas and there's nothing glib about them. He was a genuine original.
