"AH! KOSMOS is the moniker of Istanbul-based producer and instrumentalist Basak Gunak. Her debut EP called FLESH has been released in her native country via Turkish label MHayvani back in 2013. Along the release of her first full length BASTARDS in April 2015, Denovali Records will provide a re-issue of FLESH, available for the first time on a world-wide scale and on the vinyl format. Echoing and bouncing off the surfaces, the nuanced metallic droplets of synth-triggered sound interacts with moody sustained cluttering down-tempo beats and unholy choral voices over the trio of ambience on this three-track EP FLESH. From the mysterious catacombs and imagined otherworldly terrains of Istanbul, oozes the enlightened cosmic union of analog and electronic. Supporting the likes of Darkside, James Holden, Kiasmos, Two Door Cinema Club, Emika, Daddy G (Massive Attack) in her hometown Istanbul, AH! KOSMOS performed at remarkable festivals as Rockn Coke, Babylon Soundgarden, Venice Electro Festival, Budapest Punkurica Festival, Piknik Elektronik in Brussels, Tokyo Electronic Music of Arts Festival and CitySonic Festival in Mons. Basak Ghas also composed and created sound design for contemporary dance and plays, short-flms and site-specifc performances / installations in several art spaces including Rotterdamse Schouwburg, Prague Signal Festival, 18th and 19th Istanbul International Theater Festival (IKSV), ARENA Theater Festival Nrg and Venice ElectroFestival. Recently, she has been invited to the highly coveted Red Bull Music Academy 2014 Tokyo as a participant.
