Wake Up Community
Stalwart of the Bristol, UK reggae scene - Dallas releases his debut album 'Wake Up Community' some 36 years after his first 12" single 'Peacemaker'. The album was engineered by legendary UK Producer Nick Manasseh at his Yard Studios in London and produced by the late, great Elroy Bailey (Black Slate) and Jah Bunny (Matumbi, Errol Bellott) with co-production credits from Dallas. Dallas chose to use some of the finest UK reggae musicians to record his songs, namely two members of the hotly tipped Royal Sounds band and production team. With Jah Bunny on drums and on bass, locking down the rhythm, Barry Dread who has worked with John Holt, Leroy Smart, Alton Ellis and Super Cat to name but a few. The songs are a mixture of Lovers and Roots, telling stories of the necessity to 'Wake Up Community' and 'African Brothers'. Dallas has even rerecorded 'Peacemaker' to give it a new, modern feel, with the message still as strong and powerful as it was all those years ago. 'Wake Up Community' is an album of beautifully crafted British reggae songs which will touch your heart and soul
