The Tighten Ups have been kicking ass for 10 years - doling out huge helpings of funky fun - providing the Rock and Soul revue that makes you want to DANCE! They can be found in San Diego's finest dive bars, at festivals, and private events! The powerhouse vocals of lead singer Laura Jane Willcock are matched by the ballsy guitar heroics of San Diego's favorite guitar player, Joey Harris (Beat Farmers, Joey Harris & The Mentals) & the rumbling funkalicious bass stylings of Gerry Wasson! Bob Conrad commands the top of the horn section, on trumpet, and provides sexy punch just where you want it! Topher Williams is surprising at every turn with his mastery of the tenor sax - calling upon jazz, rock, blues, funk, & r&b styles when he flies high on a solo and keeps the middle electric in the section! When Meri Claire Lieux steps on stage, it ignites her Cajun soul on the trombone, and her passion fills your heart at once! She is the best dancer in the horn section! Jonny Viau (every band ever) gave us the honor of joining us on bari sax as our special guest - his deep bottom notes and mischievous sense of humor gave these performances extra magic on a day full of musical treats! Our band's newest full time drummer, New Jersey native Rene Woolley, was joined the day of our recording by 2 former drummers for The Tighten Ups : Larry Grano, and Brad Smith - 2 of the busiest and best drummers in San Diego! Recorded live at Thomas Yearsley's Thunderbird Analog Recording Studio in Oceanside, California~!
