1 - LURKERS GLM, THE - THE FUTURE'S CALLING - (CD)
UNLATCHED

For years now, the version of The Lurkers that youll see on the punk festival circuit has been fronted by Arturo Bassick, who, it cant be denied, is one of the most affable and downright funny people you could ever hope to meet. But, the fact remains that he was only The Lurkers second bass player, and only played on two singles, before original bassist Nigel Moore rejoined Uxbridges finest and played on all the rest of the bands classic singles and two albums. A few years back, Moore and fellow original Lurkers Pete Stride and Manic Esso reconvened as Gods Lonely Men, releasing a fine new album, Chemical Landslide, in 2012 that brought a modern metal edge to their pop-punk tunes. As The Lurkers GLM, the trio are rightly reclaiming their name, and new album The Futures Calling, will do much to back up that claim, packed as it is with powerful, punchy, pop-punk gems. The title track and Make Me Forget (Where We Are) have catchy choruses thatll latch onto your brain for days, while New Songs (Like The Old Songs) drips with typical Lurkers sardonic humour, and all bodes well for, hopefully, some future live shows.
