1 - VOIGHT-KAMPFF - LAST HOUSE ON THE RIGHT - (7")    UPDATED
ROCKSTAR

These are the first recordings since their debut in 2012 and you can hear that for sure. 'Last House on the right' and 'Little Dyings' are a little bit more in the wake of Colin's last band SAFEWORDS, which means more Post than Punk, more Computer than drums and more Wave than Garage. This 7" could have been a really great release in the 80's - now it's an even more awesome new little platter for the Generation Y or whatever the hell young folks are called these days.

2 - VOIGHT-KAMPFF - THE DIN OF DYING YOUTH - (LP)
P.TRASH

The Din Of Dying Youth" LP coming off the heels off a mounting barrage of thick post-punk releases in previous years, VOIGHT-KAMPFF pushes out another assault of atmospheric post-punk and SMITHS-meets-CHAMELEONS-style pop banger with their new LP "The Din Of Dying Youth". Immediately dropping into the fray like a paratrooper on the first track, the album's rhythmic chiming and bolting drums push their way through the melodic chorus-drenched guitar like a jackhammer pushing through a stream of water, cooling it down from overheating, in a sky-scraping industrial park factory where no sunlight reaches. The vocals reach over the tracks like the foreman of the factory speaking through the PA system to his human-replaced assembly line machines while simultaneously gripping the self-destruct button to detonate the entire site. Through the screeches and tears, faint optimistic veils drift in and out, spiraling around the tracks like a miasma. Clocking in at just over 20 minutes, "The Din Of Dying Youth" delivers a solid line without fluff or filling, striking both sides of the alternative melancholy buzz, from Creation Records to the steel grinding steel noise of Touch & Go. As the tracks go on feel the momentum as you're shot and traveling miles per minute through overhead cable lines from the Muddy Waters of the Mississippi River into the cold Northeastern waters of the Quabbin Reservoir. Josh Jenkins a perfect blend of sonic sounds and industrial era programming, resulting in nothing less than dark-wave BAUHAUS-esque quality. On "The Din of Dying Yout", are upbeat pop songs that could fit quite nicely on a classic dark pop LP like "Script of the Bridge". A referral for steady listeners of JOY DIVISION, ICEAGE, BAUHAUS and CHAMELEONS.

3 - VOIGHT-KAMPFF - VOIGHT-KAMPFF - (LP)
DERANGED

VOIGHT-KAMPFF began as RUN DOWN in 2005 when SULLER (MO.) and SWANSON-WHITE (MN.) came together due to a shared love of darker moodier punk. After both had been in hardcore bands they decided to try something a little weirder. A 2 song 45 was done after passing songs back and forth and was belatedly released in 2012 on Baltimores Firestarter Records. At this point the songs were already written for their debut full-length and the two decided to make a clean break from RD with a name change and stripped down format which would involve only the two of them for recording purposes. VK has played roughly a show a year since 07 recruiting different friends to flesh out live line-ups including Doom Towns Ashley Hohman and Tom Valli, Bryan Clarkson and Shaun Morrissey from The Humanoids, Matty Coonfield of Bug Chaser and Tone Rodent, Phil Schwarz of Rock Bottom Records, Ted Howard of the 86ed, and Brad Stiffler of Condominium.

4 - VOIGHT-KAMPFF - VOIGHT-KAMPFF - (LP)
P.TRASH

VOIGHT-KAMPFF from St. Louis and Minneapolis. And yes, the band's name is a reference to that awesome movie Blade Runner, which is quite fitting. VOIGHT-KAMPFF have been working on these sounds since the last millennium and their efforts will reward your earholes with music dripping with dark basement sounds. Easily lumped in with both Swedish melodic sounds like VICIOUS or SEDATIVES, SAFEWORDS, NERVOSAS with the current 80s JOY DIVISION and WIPERS dark punk... Im hearing a lot of the OBSERVERS magic with the in-your-face vocals and the way the guitar hooks weave in and out of a driving rhythm section. Perfect for punks who arent precious about where they shelve their JOY DIVISION records.

TRACKLISTING: 01. The Great White North 02. Paranoia Visions 03. Nostalgia Garbage 04. Good To Be Alive 05. The Hell Of War 06. Where No Flowers Grow 07. The Lafayettes
