1 - USELESS EATERS - BLEEDING MOON - (LP)
CASTLE FACE

Seth Sutton has been ripping the shit out of terse Telecaster-sharp riffs and Devo-indebted angular rhythms with Useless Eaters since dude was 18 years old. A young protg of Jay Reatard, Suttons home-fried concoctions are sharp, corrosive mini-masterpieces that drive you to flick cigarettes and push strangers. Psycho-sexual, serrated vocals; thin, acidic guitars; rubbery bass and hot-to-tape traps lather the whole disc. Sutton delivers a really ripping crew of tunes this time around, kicking off with the supremely heavy "American Cars" and not letting up til the side break-these are glass-crunching gems with just the right amount of crud to cut your lip a little. A great alienated vibe flows throughout, along with some really sticky melodies, too. Going out under the neon tonight? Take this with you.

3 - USELESS EATERS - DESPERATE LIVING - (7")
SLOVENLY

After four full lengths and at least two bucket fulls of singles, Slovenly has finally been graced with a 7" EP from San Franciscos most petulant purveyors of punk rock, USELESS EATERS. Hand picked by JAY REATARD as the opening band on his last ever tour, Useless Eaters careen back on the scene with "Desperate Living" on the A side. Its as good a song as band leader Seth Sutton has ever done, and hes done a ton of them. "Dungeon" and "I Think She Wants To Find Out " are on the flip and possibly even crazier. Ping-pong stereo KBD / '77 riffs bounce about and have never sounded as now as NOW. These three snotty blasts of weirdo pogo bring the attack with droning Buzzcocks licks and tribal, ritualistic beats. A raging session for their Slovenly debut!

TRACKLISTING: 01. Desperate Living 02. Dungeon 03. I Think She Wants To Find Out

4 - USELESS EATERS - LIVE IN SAN FRANCISCO - (LP)
CASTLE FACE

Announcing a white-hot entry into Castle Faces Live in San Francisco series: Useless Eaters, recorded in the basement of vintage clothing store Vacation. "This show was bananas. When we set up to record a live set, we always hope the band will just murder it and the people will go all crazy. Id say that crosses over onto the tape and makes the record shine. This was one of those magic moments. All the elements in place for a memorable evening-BYOB, a basement, in the tenderloin of San Francisco, a wicked goddamn band slaying their songs, and a perfect essence in the air. Everyone falling over each other, spilling beer, smiling screaming and sweating. A fucking mess. When everybody leaves and you look at the muddy, hot, trashed, and disgusting room you think, yes, something good happened here tonight. "Seth Suttons lineup is in peak form here, from touring and being general road-dog bad-asses. His guitar is slanted and choking with intermittent echo-just raw-vibes awesome. Miles Luttrells drumming is honed to a point and drunk with hi-hat countdowns. Brendan Hagartys bass sounds like it smells bad and is the perfect accompaniment to Seths treble-burst guitar, and the at-the-time new edition of Jacob Olsen on keyboard pulls even more of the dystopian spirals from the studio recording out into the live world." -John Dwyer.

8 - USELESS EATERS - SINGLES: 2011-2014 - (CD)
SLOVENLY

Slovenly Recordings is honored to present a new collection from one of our favorite punk rock stalwarts USELESS EATERS! Seth Sutton is the primary UE punk in question, and "Singles: 2011-2014" compiles the best tracks from their out-of-print singles from cool-assed labels like Goodbye Boozy (Italy), Tic Tac Totally and Nashvilles Dead, to name a few.The electrostatic shock of "The Moves" is here, and it sounds like the LSD is just about to take over, only youve been chewing on a tab that you never quite wrangled out of its aluminum foil wrapper. Fatter, lo-fi decimating sounds abound with tracks like "Bloody Ripper," and "I Hate The Kids" (feat. TY SEGALL) makes an appearance here as well. This is a fully realized set that somehow works even better than flipping through your Eaters 7" stack, which is likely incomplete.

TRACKLISTING: 01. Dope Clones 02. Difficult 03. American Cars 04. The Moves 05. Proper Conduct 06. Plague Is Vague 07. Addicted To The Blade 08. Starvation Blues Number Two 09. I Hate The Kids 10. Linear Movement 11. Bloody Ripper 12. Mother Earth 13. Integrated Circuit

10 - USELESS EATERS - TEMPORARY MUTILATION (10") - (EP)
SLOVENLY

Welcome to the latest USELESS EATERS installment in the Slovenly Recordings repertoire. Following the unrestrained pummel of 2014s "Desperate Living" 7inch, and the strange cohesiveness of their "Singles: 2011-2014" collection, we present you with this stark and weird new "Temporary Mutilation" five track 10inch EP. This release exemplifies Seth Suttons growth as a sonic craftsman - less concerned with "punk" as a sound while inevitably remaining PUNK, devoting himself to the development of unique noise. The title tracks skeletal arrangement and oddball meter has been embellished with haunting vibrations via phones of the saxo & xylo variety, electronic rhythmic units have been employed in "Poison Dart", and the entirety of the EP bleeds with Suttons trademark horrific sci-fi imagery and aggressive riffs and delivery.

TRACKLISTING: 01. Temporary Mutilation 02. Breathing Smear 03. Poison Dart 04. Car Accident Face 05. Scene + Sequence

11 - USELESS EATERS - ZULU - (LP)
P.TRASH

After an essential singles on Shattered, Goner, Goodbye Boozy,... and a great first LP on TicTacTotally the USELESS EATERS are back with the third strike: A new 9 song LP. This is timeless unique music, catching the spirit and energy and rage of the first generation of so called punk bands to the deconstruction and nihilism of weird post-punk sound like JOY DIVISION to KBD fucking punk sound aka LEWD, URINALS or BOBBY SOXX. The songs are sharp, tight and stripped down to bare necessities. Precise staccato guitar riffing matches Seth barking shouts perfectly. There are wilder punkers and cool a bit slower tunes dealing with girls as well but dont get me wrong, expect no ballads here! Its this genius rhythmic thing where guitar and voice once alternate and then again support each other that gives the songs their electrifying sting. You can read this in almost every review but I really think Seth wrote some great new songs. A number of major hits here like "Radioactive" where the breathless staccato verse leads to a melodic and flowing refrain. "Sticking Daggers" the kind of timelss punk song I want to hear! You can hear all the youth anger frustration and disgust in "Filthy Cop". And you get "The Nausea" with JAY REATARD drumming like a maniac really driving the song onward and Seths overdriven voice close to hysteric really desperate shouting "I just wanna leave I dont know whats wrong with me!" Definitely gives you the feeling of what state the guys where in. Fans of fellow Memphis Punk bands like FINAL SOLUTIONS, JAY REATARD or DESTRUCTION UNIT will love them. "Zulu" is dedicated to IAN CURTIS & JAY REATARD!!!
