31 - OCOEUR - REVERSED - (LP)
N5MD

Reversed is the fourth album from French composer / sound designer Franck Zaragoza and his ever-expressive Ocoeur nom de plume. The opening swell and passionate piano that precedes it sets the tone for what could very well be Zaragoza's most personally ardent set of compositions to date. Zaragoza thoughtfully augments his modern solo piano compositions with creative, some might even say organic, sound design and meticulous melancholic string harmonies. Reversed is without a doubt a truly personal listening experience meant to be absorbed again and again.

33 - OKADA - IMPERMANENCE - (CD)
N5MD

Impermanence is the third full length album from Gregory Pappas' OKADA project and his first for emotive electronics outpost n5MD. The title is taken from one of the three marks of Buddhism where it is believed that all existence is in a state of flux. The four long play tracks that make up Impermanence equal such a pragmatic whole that perfectly affirms such an album title. Moments of solace and hope give way to momentary passages of happiness and love only to unknowingly become anxious, dark and claustrophobic blankets of uncertainty. The segments of gnarled aggression that rear their head seem to never let up. Yet when released are consoled by warm ambient passages highlighting magnanimous emotive piano. Such beauty is ever present but just as in life is ever fleeting. These ephemeral passages are what makes Impermanence so special. Much like life where nothing is truly permanent.

34 - OKADA - LOVE TELEPATHIC - (CD)
N5MD

One of n5MD newest signings Okada has pre- pared his fourth album Love Telepathic. His second for the n5MD imprint has a more uplifting message and overall feel than 2015's darker opus Impermanence. Okada, AKA Gregory Pappas says of Love Telepathic: "it's about falling in love and eternally sustaining that love through the pitfalls and times where sometimes it seems all is lost". Love Tele- pathic reflects on love from a shadowier advantage. It poignantly looks towards the work, sacrifice, and even loss that often rears itself in a relationship. One key and important element of Love Telepathic is how positive the outcome of love can truly can be. Those that have a true undying understanding of one another shall overcome any hurdle together. And in some rare cases the understanding is so strong that words are meaningless. This is Love Telepathic.

35 - OKADA - MISERY - (CD)
N5MD

* Misery is the 6th full-length album from Gregory Pappas' ambient dirge project OKADA.* While its title may hint at hardship and/or anguish, Misery is not all sturm und drang. There is a underlying hope in the album's epic yet pertinent 80 minute run-time. The album, which was originally conceived as a double album, opens with "Bury Me": an upbeat track only succumbing to its overwhelming emotional heft at the songs halfway mark. Pappas has always been adept at displaying his current head-space in his music and Misery displays him in a fairly deep well of melancholy. Even the drum work, which is most-often syrupy and elastic, has a certain aching quality to them. And the sometimes out-of-tune piano work also fits right in, where otherwise it would not. Simply put, Misery has placed an exclamation point on OKADA's creative ethos and has given us a remarkable look into Pappas' transla- tion of such emotions.

TRACKLISTING: 01. Bury Me 02. Unclothe 03. Bruised And Bleeding 04. Interstellar 05. Transient Lovers 06. Guarded

36 - PORT-ROYAL - WHERE ARE YOU NOW - (CD)
N5MD

Where Are You Now is the fourth proper album from Italian widescreen dancegaze trio port-royal. It's been nearly six years since their previous full length Dying in Time (n5MD) and not counting compilation appearances, remix and rarities anthology 2011s 2000-2010: The Golden Age Of Consumerism (n5MD) and the Diamat album that port-royal architect Attilio Bruzzone orchestrated in 2013 port-royal has appeared somehow eerily silent. We now know that they've been very hard at work. The old adage that good things come to those who wait has never been more true. Where Are You Now spans the six year gap effortlessly with the band's familiar and reoccurring themes ever looming while adding newer complimentary components to their soaring tapestries. Such elements are present in the pop shimmer of tracks like "Death of a Manifesto" and "Alma M." to the more muscular almost industrialized beat mangling included in select sections of "Karl Marx Song" and "Theodor W. Adorno". To those that may be worried at such additions, they, in port-royal's hands, are now inseparable components with the band's already signature blend of post- rock, dream-pop and dance music.

TRACKLISTING: 01. Death Of A Manifesto 02. Theodor W. Adorno 03. Ain't No Magician 04. Alma M. 05. The Last Big Impezzo 06. Tallinn 07. The Man Who Stole The Hype 08. Whispering In The Dark 09. Karl Marx Song 10. Heisenberg

40 - RUXPIN - WE BECOME RAVENS - (CD)
N5MD

The album should be considered a continuation of 2013s critically heralded album "This Time We Go Together". The story follows a duo of wanderers finding each other and traveling through life - hand in hand without roots. A 'love conquers all' theme which has been a highly embraced motif in his more recent works. 'We become Ravens' consists of 15 electronica vignettes which craftily utilize synthetic soundscapes, memorable melodies, timeless introspection and Gudmundsson's signature electronically infused beats. Having been an integral part of the Icelandic Electronic music scene since his debut album in 1999. 'We Become Ravens' is a pinnacle release by a well seasoned veteran of electronic music's fringe

42 - TANGENT - COLLAPSING HORIZONS - (CD)
N5MD

This album much like the two preceding it-2013s "1mk2" (Mindtrick) and 2014s "Transience" (Tympanik)- is a sonic journey with arching atmospheres and themes. An aural representation of the formation of matter and it's disintegration in unison. The music, much as the album's namesake, could very well be the soundtrack to new universes being created on the ashes of collapsing ones. Ralph van Reijendam and Robbert Kok who are the two behind Tangent moonlight in a long list of paradoxical musical projects. Fire Walk with Us, Rob Klerkx and the Secret, Disavowed, and Synesis Absorption are all quite different from Tangent's sprawling yet steady ambience. This such daily musical juxtaposition allows Tangent the immersive focus on the ideas that make Tangent what it is. It would be a misnomer to think that with all the extra curricular time spent in more extreme forms of music that Tangent is a frenetic force. They are exactly the opposite. Dense pads, rolling beats and brilliant shimmers of resonance punctuate their electronic based instrumentals in just the correct manner to stargaze, day-dream, bliss-out, or even brood about starting over...

TRACKLISTING: 01. Perceived Horizon 02. Dawn 03. Gravitational Singularity 04. Immutable Surface 05. Tectonic Shift 06. Hyperbolic Motion 07. Ascending Awareness 08. Distorted Perspective 09. Fracture 10. Dissolution 11. Inward Collapse

44 - TO DESTROY A CITY - GO MIRAGE - (CD)
N5MD

Go Mirage is the 3rd full-length album from Chicago cinematic-rock trio To Destroy A City. This follow-up to 2014's post-rock paragon SUNLESS has an added immediacy due to the soaring nature of guitarist Michael Marshall's step toward the mic. Yes... There are vocals! Post-rock for the most part, has mainly utilized vocals as a texture or afterthought. Yet, To Destroy A City have adeptly included vocals into their cinematic tapestries with ease, and in the process added another layer of melody, modesty, and a surprising sense of hope to their already affecting guitar-driven compositions. There is an air of instant gratification with Go Mirage. It seems to push you forward to the next horizon, much as its title might suggest. Idealists might bark that To Destroy A City can't continue to fly the post-rock flag with such a vocalic album. The enlightened will find that the addition of vocals places the band as contemporaries to artists such as Caspian, Mogwai, and Album Leaf which have effectively used vocals as key components in their music.

TRACKLISTING: 01. Final Kiss 02. Never To Return 03. Beholder 04. Glance 05. Wavelength 06. She Knows 07. Go Mirage 08. Dont Be Afraid 09. Vanishing Point

46 - TO DESTROY A CITY - SUNLESS - (CD)
N5MD

Sophomore albums can be a tough proposition, often created in a much shorter time span than the years of refinement most debut albums receive. Chicago based trio To Destroy A City dropped such a perfected debut in 2011 that fans have collectively held their breath for a follow-up. However, unlike some artists who rush into the studio to complete their sophomore release, TDAC has taken nearly three years to craft their follow-up: SUNLESS. The time and effort shows in the nine cinematically crafted tracks. At times SUNLESS is more electronic leaning than its predecessor, yet is still punctuated with sheets of glacially emotive guitar-work. Intricate electronic beats give way to propulsive live drumming. The synths, while more prominent this time out, fit effortlessly into the TDAC framework. SUNLESS is an album of contrasting moods, though the trio transitions between these moods more gently than their peers. A must-have for fans of God is an Astronaut, Hammock, and Lights Out Asia.

TRACKLISTING: 01. The Messenger 02. Theta 03. Stand Before Me 04. Escape/return 05. Last Contact 06. First Light 07. Understanding In The Between 08. Daylight Station 09. Visionaries

49 - VITTORIA FLEET - GREED LP - (CD)
N5MD

album starts off in a similar vein as their debut Acht LP then very carefully with the aptly named composition "The Shape Of Things To Come" morphs into micro-tonally contorted electro with some seriously infectious vocal treatments by Giada Zerbo. The album progresses as such in a way that there is enough experimentation to keep things texturally alluring while Zerbo holds things together with her warm and comforting vocals. This is the most evident on album apex cut "Like Glue".

50 - WINTERLIGHT - THE LONGEST SLEEP THROUGH THE DARKEST DAYS - (CD)
N5MD

* "The Longest Sleep Through The Darkest Days" is the sophomore album from Plymouth shoegaze post-pop electronic project Winterlight. The project was originally a solo endeavor started by Tim Ingham back in the mid-oughts but now sees his daughter Isabel taking on bass guitar duties. * This new album is the culmination of nearly seven years of on and off creative spurts, false starts, and second guesses reflecting the turmoil hinted at in the albums title. Yet those that follow Winterlight know Tims been making music pretty much all along and releasing occasional demos via his Soundcloud.* This lengthy process has yielded one resounding result: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. "The Longest Sleep Through The Darkest Days" has all the Winterlight earmarks: divine organs, thoughtfully constructed drums, the occasional electronic flourish and, Oh... Those immaculately soaring guitars! While Ingham considers Winterlight to be post-pop, and for the most part the duo still brings those melodies to the table in spades, there are some unique changes happening under the surface in the album's bookends that move way beyond simple ear candy. This shows The Inghams are starting to take risks while still staying true to the original vision for the project.

TRACKLISTING: 01. Calm Then A Storm 02. I Can't Start Being Happy For Feeling Sad 03. Risen Again 04. Stretch Out And Away I Go 05. Hinterland 06. The Closer We Come 07. The Longest Sleep
